Building

The Lake House, a gathering place on the banks of Spring Lake, was designed and built with green building practices. It sets a standard for future projects in the Cinco Ranch® community.

  • The Lake House was built to LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) specifications. The Lake House has submitted an application for Silver LEED certification.
  • The Lake House parking lot features bioswales (surface drainage channels) that incorporate native wetland plantings that act as a natural filtration system to help trap oil residue, pesticides and other pollutants.
  • A rainwater cistern collects roof runoff from The Lake House. The rainwater is used for irrigation purposes in the surrounding landscape.
  • All Cinco Ranch Southwest builders are required to meet ENERGY STAR® standards and to become members of the Greater Houston Builders Association Green Builders Program.
