CINCO RANCH: Beginning this weekend and continuing weekends through May 3, the Cinco Ranch Custom Home Showcase features four homes priced in the low $1 millions, displaying design ideas such as two-story foyers with double spiral staircases, master suites with cast-stone fireplaces, and master bathrooms with barrel-vaulted ceilings. The optional donation of $5 per person benefits The Brookwood Community, and visitors can register to win a $1,000 shopping spree for LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch. For a suggested donation that is about half the cost of a movie ticket, visitors can enjoy hours of entertainment at the Cinco Ranch Custom Home Showcase, which begins this weekend, April 18-19, and continues on the weekends of April 25-26 and May 2-3. Showcase hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Featuring four stunning homes priced in the low $1 millions, the showcase offers hundreds of design ideas, including
outdoor living rooms with summer kitchens, wine grottos with wrought iron details, faux Venetian marble and onyx vanity tops lit from within.
The optional admission is $5 per person, with all proceeds benefiting The Brookwood Community, a Brookshire, Texas community designed to enhance the lives of adults with intellectual challenges.
All visitors may register to win a $1,000 LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch shopping spree, being given away by Newland Communities.
No purchase is necessary, entry forms are readily available and each entry has an equal chance of winning.
The showcase takes place in The Reserve at Spring Lake, a new gated enclave along the shores of a scenic 37-acre lake in Cinco Ranch.
On their way to or from the showcase, visitors can stop at Starbucks or one of many other cafes at LaCenterra, and can get a look at the many clothing and home décor stores where they might spend the $1,000 shopping spree if they are the winner.
LaCenterra is also home to Simply Cinco, the new-home information center for Cinco Ranch, offering an introduction to amenities, schools and new homes priced from the $160,000s in this 7,600-acre community. Ranked as Houston's number one community for new-home sales in 2008 by Metrostudy, Cinco Ranch is located in the Katy Independent School District.

At 10406 Charter Lake Circle, Frankel Building Group presents a 6,258-square-foot home priced at $1,299,000. With five bedrooms and 5½ baths, this home has a pavilion with an outdoor fireplace and a summer kitchen.
This home has two staircases, including a grand circular staircase in the two-story foyer. Other highlights include a wine room, media room, game room and a future sixth bedroom. A guest suite is downstairs.
Next door at 10410 Charter Lake Circle, Tommy Bailey features a five-bedroom, 5½-bath home with 5,430 square feet. Priced at $1,147,000, this stone-and-stucco home has a covered veranda with a summer kitchen, a downstairs guest suite and a wine grotto.

To visit the showcase, take I-10 west or Westpark Toll Road to Grand Parkway. From I-10, turn left on Grand Parkway and right on Cinco Ranch Boulevard. From Westpark Toll Road, turn right on Grand Parkway and left on Cinco Ranch Boulevard. Follow the signs along Cinco Ranch Boulevard to reach The Reserve at Spring Lake, which is on the left after crossing Spring Green Boulevard.
